(Defend Haiti) -

MORNE CABRIT – On a visit to Morne Cabrit, President Michel Martelly called on the people to defend his power against “conspiracy laboratories”.

Among dozens of refugees from the earthquake of January 12, 2010, President Martelly denounced “conspiracy laboratories” that plot at no end to overthrow him.

"I am a Haitian native born," said Martelly. “If I have dual-nationality why not interview the Provisional Electoral Council who approved my application.”

President Martelly praised his work to improve the living conditions of a “people who have suffered too much for 208 years.” He accused those who would seek to cut short his five-year term of wanting to take his power to “make money”.

The president and members of the government are currently entangled in a case to verify their Haitian nationalities. Martelly and members of the Council of Ministers have not complied with the investigation being undertaken by a senate commission.

Two helicopters were mobilized to enable the Head of State to visit the 4,000-home Renaissance Village of Zoranje. The village is currently under construction through a grant by the Inter-American Development Bank to benefit internally displaced persons of the January 12, 2010 earthquake.
