photos - hydrocephalus team - part 1

In January some mothers and their hydrocephalus children who live out in the provinces came into Port-au-Prince for the hydrocephalus evaluations and surgeries at Bernard Mevs/Project Medishare Hospital. Carlo and his mother are from the Jacmel area.
Angeline and her mother from Cayes was another of the out-of-town mothers who stayed with us for a bit.
Angeline is a very sick child. Her abdomen was very swollen and she had just been discharged from the hospital in Cayes to come into Port-au-Prince to see the doctors on the medical team.
We have been having a lot of troubles with our truck. In January we had to use the services of a local tap-tap to transport patients to the hospital :)
I have known Sterline Bonhomme and her mother since she was a young baby. Dorothy of Faith, Hope, Love Infant Rescue took in Sterline for awhile as she was malnourished at the time. She looked after until she had her hydrocephalus surgery and then the mother took her back into her home again. Sterline also was born with clubbed feet. With regular casting while she was a baby her feet are straight again. Sterline was so developmentally delayed that I thought that she would never be able to even hold her head up and look at this, she is sitting all by herself. All those involved in her care since she was a young baby and God's healing mercies brought Sterline to the development she is at today. Her mother is happy with her progress and looks after her well. I like these success stories. It gives encouragement :)
