People who did not get the opportunity to vote sometimes carried their frustrations onto the street. These policemen calmed down a situation of angry voters outside a voting site in Petionville.
This is the St. Pierre Catholic Church in Petionville. The park around the church is called Place St. Pierre. This is a view from the balcony of the Lycee in Petionville.
The Lycee was a large site with lots of voters lined up to vote. Voting was delayed a couple of hours while staff waited for supplies to be delivered. The voting day was supposed to begin at 6:00am but some centers opened at 9:00am.
