photos - elections - part 10

During the week this area is a fresh flower stand. It is a good vantage point to watch goings-ons at the Lycee.

From young adults to the elderly were out on the streets in the Petionville park area.

The elderly man walking with a cane was one of the successful ones who had his name on the voting rolls and an electoral id card! He was able to exercise his democratic right to vote on Sunday.
Others were not so lucky. If you look at the bottom right of the photo you will notice that a few pages were ripped off the wall. Whoever had their names on the missing pages would never know if he/she was on the list! It was sad that so many people who wanted to vote didn't get the opportunity to do so.

After leaving Petionville we headed downtown. We saw a foot patrol from the Brazilian UN walking on lower Avenue John Brown.
