112 YOUNG PEOPLE ON THE PATH OF EMPLOYMENT
(Haiti Libre) -
112 young people, in apprenticeship in Cap-Haitien since October 2011, made an exploratory visit in late January to the Society of Industrial Development (CODEVI) of Ouanaminthe [Northeast], about forty kilometers from Cap-Haitien.
These are 112 of the 120 young people aged between 18 and 25 who are benefitting from the second phase of the "Reintegration" project, of the Section Community Violence Reduction (CVR) of the Minustah, in partnership with the Training Centre of the SOS Children's Village (VESOS). The Minustah s funding this project to the tune of $200,000 U.S. dollars. 70% of them [including 1/3 girls] come from difficult areas of Cap Haitien.
The CODEVI, an export company of the free zone, specializing in the manufacture and assembly of clothing, has maintained a 3-year partnership with the VESOS, which facilitates the integration of students who might, following this visit, do their 3 month "stage" [essential to the sanction of their training], or find a job, especially in the assembly and manufacture of textile products.
