Manu is holding a "blackberry". Actually, it is a World Food Programme package of fortified biscuits that are handed out around the country by WFP providors. Manu bought this package of cookies on the street from a vendor selling them for 5 gourdes a package. They are tasty and I would rather he eat this type of vitamin, energy cookie rather than a regular cookie. These WFP cookies are hot commodities though. The children were discouraged later in the week when they found out the police saw the vendor selling them, and took the cookies from her. Looks like the police is trying to keep "blackberry's" off the "black market".
We recently had some more visitors and Shilo joined in on hunting stray rats and mice that happened to want to make a home in the house. He is getting so good at it that he pawed at the book on my bookshelf which marked the spot where a mouse was hiding behind. The mouse is no more!
James and Tricia Wanders spent a week with us here at Coram Deo and helped at doing some repair projects around the house and spending time with our Coram Deo family.
They brought along a new laptop for Jn. Eddy. Jn. Eddy is studying accounting in university and needs a computer as part of his course. Thanks to all those who financially support Coram Deo in our efforts to help the people in our programs.
Paulna's mother called us about a baby in the village her family lives in. We visited the family and brought them some supplies.
