Oct. 19 - Dr. Karen McCarthy - Medical Team

We have a full yard this morning :) Dr. Karen McCarthy's team is busy at work seeing patients. We already have entered 150 people into the yard. Dr. Karen's team is very experienced in doing medical clinics here in Haiti. They made it through the airport in Port-au-Prince with their medicines. Dr. Karen got stopped by customs and they searched her bags. She gave him some fungal cream and he told her he was a pastor and let her through :) A boy with a large abscess on his ear had it lanced. A boy from Cite Soleil came with his mother. He broke his arm on Sunday and has been in a lot of pain because his mother has no pain medicine to give him. A lady from the La Piste - Camp Handicappe came holding a set of 8-month-old twins in her arms. The mother died in childbirth and the aunt is now raising them. After Dr. Karen sees them they will come here every week for food and milk and I told them about Meredith and Macdonald and how they would be a support for them each week. This way the twins won't have to fall into malnutrition. Pray for the efforts of the team today and for the rest of the week as well. Sure is great to see people getting help :)
