MINISTER THEANO DISAPPOINTS PRIME MINISTER CONILLE
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE – The Minister for Relations with Parliament, Ralph Theano, was not truthful, according to Prime Minister Garry Conille, who found allegations made by his minister to be “shocking, disappointing, rude, and unacceptable.”

Following a resolution by the Council of Ministers on February 13 to not comply with a senate investigation, Minister Theano alleged that Prime Minister Conille was the instigator of the resolution. Theano also said that President Michel Martelly had left the meeting of the ministers before the resolution was taken.

The prime minister denied Theano’s allegations. “I had some reservations on the resolution. Because they were not taken into account, I decided not to sign,” said Conille. The prime minister’s actions dictated his opposition to the resolution.

Conille sent a correspondence to the ministers and to the press calling on his cabinet to comply with the senate investigation. Theano suggested that ministers did not receive the correspondence and described it as a “flier”. Hearing this, the prime minister said “it’s shocking and disappointing to hear this, especially from a statesman,” speaking on Radio Vision 2000.

”What he says is very disappointing. A minister to say this on the radio, this is very disturbing. I still believe that some ministers tell the truth,” said the head of government.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Conille was the only minister to comply with the senate investigation. Minister Theano sent a correspondence, signed by all the ministers of the cabinet, to the senate commission requesting for more time to come forward and honor the request of the senators. A 90-degree-turn from the resolution of non-compliance signed on Monday.
