photos - new homes - part 2

The rows of houses provide a large separation between the two. The one thing that there is a lack of in Port-au-Prince is open space. When the construction is finished it will look great!

The back area was finished and painted and each house was painted a different color. I don't know if it was color testing though. None of the houses had doors or windows installed yet.

These 2 homes are ready for sheets of tin to be nailed down to form a roof.

Approximately 350 homes will be constructed and according to people who we spoke with the deaf community living in the refuge camp nearby will be some of the beneficiaries of these homes. Pray for more homes like these to be constructed for all those who lost their homes during the earthquake and pray for the work of the Red Cross and the Haitian government as they determine more building sites to house refugees.

Maybe one day there will be a series of these type of apartment blocks built on La Piste. These apartments are known as "Kay 2004" (Building 2004). Jean Bertrand Aristide constructed these while he was president (from 20001-2004). His vision was to see the La Piste area with several of these types of apartment buildings. The apartments survived the earthquake with some damage. Pray for a skyline of apartments for Port-au-Prince (that are earthquake and hurricane proof!)
