photos - vote results - part 6

This man lives in the Delmas 31 neighborhood. We helped him get medical care for a badly infected foot a few months ago and it is fully healed now. He told me that he will never forget how we helped him. It is good to have the support of the "street"!

Posters of Jude Celestin were not very welcome by the people. The man on the wall wanted to remove the poster from the frame. Instead of removing it completely he pulled it back and then put "kindling" behind it....

.... and the poster went up in flames! The people nearby cheered at this sight. I don't know how Jude Celestin advanced to the second round. He doesn't seem to have much support from the people.

You can see 2 police motorcycles heading down Delmas 33 and a private motorcycle coming up Delmas 33. 3 people were on this motorcycle. The lady riding in the middle of the motorcycle was unconscious and was being supported by the man behind her. She had been overcome by the tear gas that the UN threw on main Delmas. People were searching for medical help for her.

The police rescued/arrested a woman shown sitting in the back of the police pickup after stealing someone's cell phone. The angry crowd had removed her clothing before the police rescued/arrested her.

Thank you again for all the pictures and articles. They really give a "you are there" feeling. Because Haiti's needs are all so great, I keep praying, "God, help Haiti, help Haiti", over and over. I'm glad the Holy Spirit is also interceding as Romans says, in words that cannot be uttered. That meaning may be different from mine, in that I've reduced the many words into one sentence, "God, help Haiti." The other thing I pray is for salvation and deepened growth for everyone, as well as strength for all who help. Janet
