photos - vote results - part 16

The Champ Mars was peaceful and people were able to let their guard down.

The middle of the Champ de Mars is a large refuge camp where thousands of earthquake refugees live.

The CIMO riot police felt the calm and let their guard down too! You just had to be there to experience the feeling. There was the tension and excitement of the walk to the National Palace and when we got there it was calm and relaxing. Only a photo can show this.

People walked around on the street in front of the palace and food vendors went amongst the pedestrians hoping to sell some food to the hungry protesters!

There was quite a few evidence of protest around like this smoldering tire remnant but notice the fresh orange juice wagon! I think this is a funny shot. The Haitian people can battle one minute and the next minute things can be calm. They are a strong people.
