photos - elections - part 30

The people waved tree branches showing that it was a peaceful demonstration.

This UN helicopter circled above to monitor the situation.

People were there to show the CEP and the media that they weren't for the president's choice candidate Jude Celestin, and that they wouldn't be quiet about accepting a fraudulent vote!

Sadly, on election day many people never got the opportunity to vote and voting irregularities happened in many locations.

Being on the streets on election day, I know one thing for certain. The popular vote is for Michel Martelly whose nickname slogan is "Tet Kale" (translated as "shaved head or baldy" for being bald). Let "Baldy" prevail! The series of photos over the next few days will be of post-election protests. There were a couple of them. The election results are due from the CEP on December 7th for the preliminary figures. Final results are on December 20th. Pray for the elections. They have been problem filled.
