Last evening around midnight a group of men came to the gate. The guys who live here at Coram Deo were sleeping outside. The men who were at the gate knocked saying to open the gate. They repeated their request and knocked loudly at the gate. The guys in our yard were scared to approach the gate. One of the drunks who hangs out at our street corner walked down the street and yelled at the men who wanted to get inside the gate. Papite told them that I lived in the community for a long time helping the people and that they would have to kill him to keep him silent as he would denounce them. Papite knew whoever the men were at the gate. Things went silent and nothing else happened the rest of the evening.
We have barbed wire on the walls and the only way into the yard is to force their way in. We don’t have a security guard and are our own security. For the next few evenings at least we will take turns to keep watch in case they return again.
Pray for protection for everyone here at Coram Deo and that the thieves don’t come back.
Karen Bultje, Coram Deo
