photos - various - part 6

Some of the recent hydrocephalus surgery children returned to the hospital with post-op infections. The good thing about it is that they were received, hospitalized and receiving good care at the Bernard Mevs/Project Medishare Hospital.

A surgery is not a guaranteed success. In the United States and Canada about 70% of the cases are successful. The others have post-op problems.

The spina bifida baby returned to hospital again as the meningeocele reopened. Pray for the babies who are hospitalized with post-op problems.

There are always hydrocephalus babies here in Haiti. This woman gave birth to this girl in February. Her husband died in the earthquake. She is now a widow with 2 children and living in a refuge camp in the Delmas 31 area.

Hopefully there will be another neurosurgery team arriving in a couple of months to help her. Her name is Jansika.
