Paulna is leading the children up the path to her house.
Across from Paulna's house is the "hougan's" (witchdoctors) house.
A new baby was born a couple days before our visit. It is very small and weighed only about 3 pounds. According to the family she was born during the 7th month of pregancy. The great-grandmother is holding the baby.
The mother of the baby is handicapped and we told the family to go to the Love a Child clinic in Fond Parisien on Monday. We contacted Carole and she was prepared to take in the child to the clinic.
The family didn't go to Love a Child on Monday and the mother of the baby died Tuesday. She was only 25 years old.
