ARTICLE - NO AMENDMENT = JUDGEMENT

MARTELLY WILL BE JUDGED IF CONSTITUTION NOT PUBLISHED
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE - President Michel Martelly will be judged if he refuses to publish the Constitution of Haiti said the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Levaillant Louis-Jeune (Desdunes/Inite).

Deputy Louis-Jeune said an Executive Order should be issued to retract the order of June 3rd, 2011 that declared the recently amended Constitution, published on May 13, 2011 by former President Preval to be erroneous and not in accordance with the votes of the Parliamentarians on May 8th and 9th of that year. As well, with this Executive Order the President of the Lower House said the Head of State should note the errors that were in the text, and publish the corrected version of the Constitution.

When asked if the Chamber of Deputies would indict the President for not publishing the Constitution, Deputy Louis-Jeune said that either before a tribunal of parliamentarians or by history, Martelly will face judgement.

Louis-Jeune said that the Head of State is waiting for a letter from the president's of both houses, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies before proceeding with the publication of the Constitution. The President of the Senate, Simon Desras (Centre/Lavni) is on a working trip in Denmark and is expected to return by the end of the week.
