IN CARREFOUR, THE TAX OBLIGATIONS ARE NOT PLEASANT
(Haiti Libre) -
Yvon Jérôme, Principal Mayor of the Commune of Carrefour, thanks to the positive results of an initiative of tax mobilization, launched last year by the administration of this Municipality, which allowed the collection of 63 million gourdes, has announced within the framework of the implementation of its Five-Year Plan of Municipal Investment (PIM) several immediate projects, including: construction of a municipal school in Taifer and Corail-Thor, construction of 1 km of road to Côte-Plage 22, dredging of canals, installation of 120 protection sewer grates... The Mayor mentioned that more than fifty other projects are pending and will be conducted based on tax revenues from taxpayers.
In this regard, Yvon Jérôme has reminded the population that the "grâce fiscale" (the fiscal due) for taxpayers who have not regularized their situation, for the year 2011-2012, expires on June 30, 2012. Underlining his determination to enforce the law and collect taxes, the Mayor informed the laggards, who have not fulfilled the payment of their rental taxes and their patents, that after June 30, they will have to pay 20% interest, and for those who would not have paid their 2010-2011 taxes, they will have to pay 75% interest. In addition, the Mayor informed that the names of violators will be published in newspapers, broadcast on the radio, and they will face the sealing of their house, if they fail to meet their tax obligations.
The population is warned. It is preferable to pay taxes in Carrefour...
