SENATOR ZENNY SUPPORTS LAURENT LAMOTHE FOR PRIME MINISTER
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE - Senator Edwin Zenny (Sud-Est/Independent), regarded as being close to President Martelly, threw his support behind the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe, to ascend to the seat of the Prime Minister.

For Zenny, the designation and the ratification of Minister Lamothe would be beneficial for the nation. He cites the dynamism of Lamothe and Haiti's new approach towards diplomacy in the past four months.

A former businessman, Laurent Lamothe instituted business diplomacy in Haiti, which aims to attract foreign investors and to discover new markets for local producers. "He began to change Haiti's image around the world," said Zenny who added, "I think he is the most competent person for the office of Prime Minister."

Commenting on the departure of Mr. Conille, the senator of the south-east department criticized the former Prime Minister, and former official of the United Nations.

"He had his own agenda," insisted Zenny who had not voted for the ratification of Conille. Today Senator Zenny reveals that his absence at the ratification hearing was not due to the recovery of his mother but his opposition to the choice of Garry Conille.

There were, in the recent weeks, graffiti in the streets claiming Garry Conille as president, said Zenny, suggesting that he had warned the Head of State of the impossibility to lead with a personality with whom he had political differences.

Edwin Zenny is the first member of parliament to openly support one of the three nominations sent to the house by the President of the Republic. Other members have not yet expressed their views on the candidates for the prime minister's Office.
