SENATORS LAMBERT AND LATORTUE ASK FOR REINSTATEMENT INTO NATIONALITY COMMITTEE
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE - Senators Joseph Lambert (Sud-Est/Independent) and Youri Latortue (Artibonite/AAA) have requested reinstatement into the senate investigating committee on nationality after resigning from the committee three days ago.

The revelation was made by committee chairman, Senator Jean-Charles Moïse (Nord/Inite) who spoke on Radio Kiskeya on Sunday.

The two senators and a third, Yvon Buissereth (Sud/Inite), resigned from the committee on Thursday citing a lack of factual evidence in the investigation.

Senator Lambert and Latortue are allies of the President of the Republic, who is a subject in the investigation, and were both Co-chairman and Co-Secretary, respectively, at the time of their resignation.

It is not clear the motivation for reversing the decision to resign, but a Conference of Senate Committee Chairmen will meet on Monday to rule on the application for reinstatement.
