ARTICLE - 4 JUDGES TO CASSATION COURT

4 JUDGES APPOINTED TO THE COURT OF CASSATION
(Haiti Libre) -

Pierre Michel Brunache, the Minister of Justice announced that the Court of Cassation has been "cut" for several years by several of its members, and has now been completed by the nomination of 4 judges "...I can announce you [...] that 4 judges have been appointed, the order was signed by the President of the Republic, the Minister of Justice and the Prime Minister, and now the Court is complete.

I have the names, but you know the process of appointment of judges to the Court of Cassation... some of the those who were appointed, are not yet aware, so I prefer to speak directly with them by phone, as they are not yet aware, .... rather than tell them in the media.

Now that the Court of Cassation is complete, I can now be confident in the establishment of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) by the end of this month; a process that will take place nevertheless in several steps, considering the accumulated delays with the Court of Cassation,... but we will advance for the swearing in of the certified members.

We will put in place a working group with the Council to advance at the administrative level, to ensure that the CSPJ be effective this year..."
