photos - home rebuilding - part 4

Yonel's property was backfilled with rubble and gravel to lift the whole property up to height of the rock foundation/canal wall.


You can tell in this photo how the backfilling looked when it was done.


To Reginald's left is a 3 story building that still needs to be demolished. It is too dangerous to be habitable. To the right you can see a peaked tent with a white top. On the grounds where a large church used to be a tent was erected so that the church could still have services. I was proud of Reginald. He worked hard at assisting Yonel moving the material to his house site.


Here is a photo of the finished foundation; backfilled to raise up the level of the property to the top of the canal. In this way the house won't have flooding problems. He will need a stair to climb up though!



We ordered the cement blocks and had them delivered to Coram Deo. Then we loaded Kimosabee with 50 blocks at a time to take to the work site. the school children helped carry blocks.
