ARTICLE - PETIT-GOAVE CHURCH VANDALIZED

OUR LADY IN PETIT LOAVE DESECRATED BY VANDALS
(Defend Haiti) -

PETIT-GOAVE - On the night of March 9 to 10, unidentified vandals, stained with mud the altar of the “Notre-Dame de Petit-Goave” Catholic Church, located in western Haiti. They defiled all the symbols: the crucifix, the table, and the image of the Virgin Mary.

Haiti Press Network reported the parish priest Father Boniface calling this an act of desecration, abomination, immorality, and persecution, and asks Christians to continue to pray, and not to be discouraged at this time of Lent.

Another priest speaks of "sacrilege". Catholic Christians of Petit Goave strongly condemn this act of defilement. They interpret this as an act of vandalism and folly.

For now, all religious activities are suspended within the confines of the Catholic Church in Petit-Goave pending the decision of higher authorities, said Father Boniface.

Remember that many similar acts were committed last year in Catholic churches in northern Haiti and even in Masonic temples. Religious leaders (Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Voodoo) raised unanimously their voices to condemn these actions.

The perpetrators were never found.
