PAKISTON URGES HAITI TO ACHIEVE CONSENSUS FOR POLITICAL STABILITY
(Defend Haiti) -

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - On Friday, Pakistan, the country where Osama Bin Laden was found hiding in a mansion, urged Haiti to build a consensus on its political and other problems in order to accomplish stability.

“Such a consensus has been eroded in Haiti following the recent political events,” said Pakistani Ambassador to the United Nations, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, to the Associated Press of Pakistan.

Ambassador Haroon was referencing the recent resignation of Prime Minister Garry Conille and news of several protests by former Haitian soldiers who have begun occupying old military bases.

Pakistanis in Haiti are facing their own problems.

Accusations were made in January that a United Nations Pakistani contingent of MINUSTAH raped young children, one of which, is a 14-year-old boy.

Haitian officials have been seeking justice for the young victim and his family, asking the United Nations to dispose the suspects to the Haitian justice system.
