(Haiti Libre) -

Michaëlle Jean, the UNESCO Special Envoy for Haiti, regrets the climate of psychosis caused yesterday in the capital. [HL: Following the statements of Senator Joseph Lambert], forced the cancellation of the closing ceremonies of the National Forum on the issue of Haitian women, on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day. She wanted to salute the courage and the initiatives of Haitian women, who throughout the country, by their hard work, invaluable to their associations, businesses, groups and organizations, participate in providing solutions to problems that plague all of Haiti.

"The citizens of this country are at the heart of living forces, the guarantee of its refoundation and rebirth." The Special Envoy of UNESCO welcomes the work done right now with the Éduc'2012 gathering. This massive mobilization in favor of education is conducted by mutual agreement, and in a spirit of partnership by the Groupe de réflexion et d'action pour une Haïti nouvelle (GRAHN), and the Ministry of Education and Professional Training (MENFP). It puts on capacity building, knowledge and skills, in rallying the will of Haitians to act at home and abroad, with the backing and the cooperation of supportive partners within the international community.
