The 19th Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross, which is held every four years, should enable the national societies of the Americas, to adopt the broad strategic guidelines, and the action plan of the Movement in the zone, during the next 5 years, and must play a key role in the context of co-operation between national societies across the continent. While being convinced that the Red Cross is in resonance with his vision of a Caribbean of solidarity, which will arm itself to better meet the challenges arising from its peculiar nature, of its history, and its characteristics, the President has guaranteed to the members of this organization, the full support of the Haitian state, and promised to work on the implementation of mechanisms, which can facilitate the steps undertaken.
