photos - earthquake - part 4

This street in Cite Aux Cayes had heavy damage to buildings. One man was killed in the rubble of the blue checkerboard building.

The National School in Cite Aux Cayes was full of students when it went down. 100 students were killed.

This man was searching for a body in the rubble. You can tell where there are dead bodies unretrieved from buildings by their odor.

This is the collapsed building of a mission school in Cite Aux Cayes.

The bodies of the dead were everywhere and nobody picked them up. This father and son were pulled from the wreckage of their home. Because of the odor of decomposition the people decided to burn the bodies on the street.
