THE PRESIDENT OF ANAMAH GETTING IMPATIENT

Judge Durin Duret Junior, President of the National Association of Haitian Magistrates [ANAMAH], despite the Government's explanations of a smooth process, continues to see the successive delays taken for the office of Superior Council of Judicial Power (CSPJ), an unwillingness of the Executive to want to complete the installation process of the CSPJ.

He insists on the urgency of installing the CSPJ, stressing that in case of the eventual promulgation of the amended text of the Constitution, it would be impossible to establish a Permanent Electoral Council; because in the amended Consitution, the Judicial Council must designate 3 of the 9 members of the new CEP...

Judge Duret reported that a meeting between ANAMAH, the Federation of the Bar Association of Haiti, and the Presidency, was scheduled for June 13, in order to find a solution and resolve the situation... always ready to strike if nothing advances...
