ARNEL BELIZAIRE DEPOSITED 1,000 PAGES AGAINST THE MARTELLY GOV'T
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE - Refraining from comment on the content of these large documents that could put the Senate inquiry onto new tracks, Senator Steven Benoit (Ouest/Alternative) also revealed that a minister resigned as a U.S. citizen and announced that a match has been forwarded to the Head of State asking him to give investigators his last passport (2007-2012) and the copy of his U.S. residency card. Deputy Arnel Belizaire (Delmas/Independent), claims to having discovered in the United States that Martelly has a triple identity, and is searching for the impeachment of the Head of State.

Sen. Steven Benoit said Tuesday that Deputy Arnel Belizaire, freshly returned from the United States, has returned to the Senate Committee of Inquiry into the nationality of senior management with a lot of impressive documents;.... over a thousand pages..... on ministers and secretaries of state; but especially for President Michel Martelly, whose alleged dual foreign citizenship remains at the center of an investigation and concerns different segments of public opinion.

The representative of the district of Delmas / Tabarre, Belizaire, whose name had hit the headlines during his unlawful arrest in October of last year, had said before his return to the parliamentary commission, that he would seek the impeachment of the head of state, who would have used three identities in the United States, where he lived.

Without revealing the contents of individual dossiers submitted to the Commissioners, Senator Benoit has implicitly shown that they could be of some interest.

In his voluminous report, Arnel Belizaire has found support through his research in various American institutions, that besides his double identity already known; .... Michael Joseph, and Joseph Michael Martelly, the President of the Republic would have a third name, Olivier Michel Martelly,.... not to be confused with that of his eldest son.

The maarital status of one whose wife Sophia St. Remy and the date of birth, corresponding to that of the Head of State, February 12, 1961, would be the difference between father and son. The elected of Delmas / Tabarre (east-northeast of Port-au-Prince) intends to pursue the former lead singer who has become leader by "forgery, and breach of trust". The same charges had been the cause of the dramatic arrest of the Pro-Lavalas parliamentarian at the international airport of Port-au-Prince, and a serious political crisis for the new regime.

Following this most recent development in the thorny issue of nationality, Steven Benoit said the Senate inquiry was sent Tuesday to Martelly as a new correspondence, asking him to return his last passport, which covers the period 2007-2012, and the copy of his U.S. residency card.

Ecumenical Platform Religions for Peace, which had offered its good offices to facilitate a resolution of the crisis, tried in vain to convince the President to send to Parliament the last such document.

The valid passport and residence card will be an important "capital" for the advancement and completion of the investigation, said the first senator from the west.

If the Haitian nationality of the President is seriously in doubt because of serious accusations attributing to American and Italian nationalities, other Executive members seem housed in the same boat. In addition to the Secretaries of State George Racine (Interior), Elsa Baussan Noel (Heritage) and Jean-Claude François (higher education), a government minister resigned holds a U.S. passport, according to the findings of the report of the sub-commission of inquiry to immigration. Its president, said Steven Benoit, submitted its report Tuesday, and was careful this time to reveal the identity of the person concerned.

These new elements coincide with the extension of the ratification process of the Prime Minister-designate. Initially set for this Thursday, the handing over the report of the special commission on the status of ratification of the record of Laurent Lamothe, was postponed to a later date because of some "complications", said Sen. Francky Exius, one of the commissioners. A businessman who is very close to the head of state has also long lived abroad. The current chancellor is the subject of an investigation into his dual nationality and residence.
