SENATORS ANNOUNCE DELAYS TOWARDS PRIME MINISTER RATIFICATION
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE - The dossier of the prime minister designate will be delayed for an indefinite amount of time according to Senator Jean-Charles Moise, who bases the outgoing minister of foreign affairs, and the president of the republic, as outstanding parties in an open senate investigation.

"Announcing to the nation, the dossier of the prime minister designate will go into retard," said Senator Moise, who cited new information to his commission, and failures on the part of Minister Lamothe and President Martelly to submit some documents.

The Commission on Nationality is hoping to present a final report on Prime Minister-designate Laurent Lamothe to the Senate Commission on Ratification in order to continue the process, but says outstanding documents and new information are delaying the investigation.

"Because we are waiting, it is not us that are putting the country into the situation that it is here today; this is what I want people to understand..."

"It is the president himself, after the parliament had voted a prime minister 95%, 96%. The parliamentarians voted for this prime minister, and in 2 or 3 months the president destroyed the government."

"He has never presented a budget before us to say that he is making an effort to get the Haitian people out of the situation that they are in. He prefers to handle his personal things and he has nothing to see with the Haitian people." - Senator Jean-Charles Moise

Senator Moise claims there was a meeting at the National Palace, and deputies and senators attended. Moise says at this meeting that President Michel Martelly doubted that Laurent Lamothe could be ratified as prime minister because he holds double nationality.

The Senator from the North added that a female minister in the government was found to have nationality in another country.

Senator Jean-Charles Moise has called on the National Police of Haiti to search for a laboratory for passports and other fake documents. The senator says passports and visas were submitted to the commission by some members of the government and senators now believe these documents were doctored.
