THE USNS COMFORT IS HERE!

The USNS Comfort Hospital ship has arrived here in the Port-au-Prince port. We have been busy helping Angel Missions organize translators and getting patients to the clinic. It was a long day and fun too! This photo is from the internet. The clinics began at around 11:30am and we were there early at 8:00am. We had time to spend doing a walkabout in the Carrefour neighborhood. Our objective was to get close to the ship to get a close-up. A Haitian man in a rowboat offered to take us out to the middle of the harbor for a better view but it was a little wavy and the sea wouldn't stay still enough to focus my camera. This internet photo will have to do.
Solyvien is Vanessa's assistant translator. He actually took a ride on a navy boat and went ONTO the hospital ship. I was kind of jealous. I should have given him my camera instead. This is a great opportunity for Soyvien to be a translator!
Herol will also be helping to translate as well.
Reginald is getting his eyes checked to see if the one eye can have cataract surgery.
Yven is a little cross-eyed in one of his eyes and we took him to the clinic to see if the doctors could help him. I took lots of pictures today but it won't be for the next couple of days that I will have time to start posting photos. The first day went well! Pray that many people get helped!

Thanks for the update Karen. It will be interesting to hear how the Lord extends his blessings to you all, in the next two very busy weeks! Our prayers are with you.
