photos - election protests - part 11

Sorry for the delay in posting photos. It was busy the last couple of weeks. Here is the continuation of the election protest photos. The protest in front of the CEP ended peacefully and people started to head on their way. But the quiet didn't last. The other police were walking and relaxed and this policeman looked back. People near the Delmas and Delmas 33 intersection started to throw rocks. Police shot in the air and we dove for cover under a street vendors' table! The vendor wasn't very impressed with us.

When the coast was clear we followed the police as they headed down Delmas. There wasn't much rubble thrown in the area of this photo. Vehicle traffic wasn't impeded. You can see some of the rubble that was thrown at the side of the road.

As we headed past the Delmas 31/Delmas intersection traffic was mainly on foot because of all the rubble lying in the street.

The angry crowd didn't have the opportunity to set fire to this tire.

Vehicle traffic avoided the area and the police continued on.
