POLICE IN PETION-VILLE ARREST 12 IN SERIES OF RAIDS

PORT-AU-PRINCE - On Monday, the Police in Petion-ville presented to the press a group of 12 suspects of which some had confessed to participating in crimes ranging from vehicle theft to kidnapping.
Commissioner Vanel Lacroix said the alleged gangsters were arrested in a series of operations that began on Friday in 7 different districts of the city.
The commissioner said that 2 vehicles, a motorcycle, a 36 caliber revolver and 8 mobile phones were recovered.
Commissioner Lacroix has congratulated the people who contributed to the success of the operations and asked citizens to continue to assist law enforcement.
Some bandits arrested for kidnappings said those abducted had been released for their ransoms.
