DEPUTIES PLAN TO CONVENE OVER TWO DOZEN IN BELIZAIRE INVESTIGATION

PORT-AU-PRINCE – The Chamber of Deputies of the Republic will hold five (5) hearings in the next ten (10) days to convene over two dozen government employees to re-open the case of the arrest of Deputy Arnel Bélizaire (Delmas & Tabarre/Independent)...
Members of the Lower House of Government are returning back to session with a full schedule of hearings and interviews to be held surrounding the arrest of the deputy of Delmas and Tabarre.
The Chairman of the Commission is Deputy Jean Danton Leger (Leogane/Lavni), Vice Chairman Joseph Benoit Laguerre (St Jean & Arniquet/AAA) and Secretary Jean Romelus Lisma (Chardonierres-Anglais/Liberation)
Staring on Friday, January 6th, the special commission established in December will hear from:
Former Government Commissioner Félix Léger
Deputy Arnel Bélizaire
The MINUSTAH official that assisted in the arrest
Godson Orelus
The police that participated in the arrest
Former Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Michel Brunache
Former Government Commissioner Lionel Constant Bourgoin
Government Commissioner Jean Renel Senatus
The next hearing will be on Tuesday, January 10th, and will convene:
Minister of Public Works, Jacques Rousseau
Airport Director, Pierre Andre Laguerre
Director of the National Penitentiary, Rolande Celestin
Airport employees, particularly those alleging to have been assaulted by the Minister of the Interior
On Wednesday January 11th, the commission will hear from:
Former Minister of Justice, Josue Pierre-Louis
Former Government Commissioner Claudy Gassant
Judge at the Court of First Instance, Jocelyne Casimir
On Friday January 13th, the commission will hear:
Deputy Levaillant Louis-Jeune
Deputy Patrick Joseph
Head of Immigration Roland Chavanne
Monday, January 16th, is reserved for:
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe
Minister of the Interior, Thierry Mayard-Paul
The last hearing so far scheduled is for Tuesday, January 17th, to hear from:

Senators of the Republic held a few sessions in the Fall of 2011 regarding the case. The Minister of Justice, Pierre-Louis, and former Government Commissioner, Leger, resigned and were removed for their posts respectively.
