photos - various - part 2

Roseline is a young girl who we met at one of the first medical clinics held here at Coram Deo after the earthquake. She fell off her roof during the earthquake and the father brought her here looking for help. The doctor who examinied her noted her distended abdomen and decreased bowel sounds and told us she needed to go to a hospital. We drove her out to the Love a Child Hospital in Fond Parisien and they transferred her to a hospital in the Dominican Republic where surgery was done for a ruptured appendix.

She visited us here this week with her father and younger sister. Her father is thankful to all the medical people involved in her care. Without this surgery she would have died. Now she plays and goes to school!

Darline Bertil is a young woman who lost both her hands and part of one arm in the earthquake. We are helping Love a Child with medical visa paperwork so that she can travel to the United States. A hospital in New York will be designing electronic prostheses for her. Her mother will be accompanying her to the United States and helps to look after her.

Marie Ange is a young girl who was severely burned in a fire before the earthquake. The skin contractures on her neck pull her mouth down making it difficult to swallow. We are helping Love a Child with this case too. She has been accepted at the Shriners Hospital.

With plastic surgery her face will improve. Please keep this family in prayer.
