photos - repairs - part 5

As the morning wore on more of the children wanted to help with the painting.

There were lots of willing volunteers!

It didn't take long for the guys to finish painting a couple of the walls around the property. Benson helped supply paint.

Amos was walking tall and carrying a big stick as supervisor. It didn't last long. The guys replaced him.

Amos returned to his painting duties.

The house and depots now have a fresh coat of paint on!

The guys painted the food depot in the house too.

Now we have to reinstall the shelves and move the food back in!

The new storage depot for the dormitory received a coat of paint as well.

The guys enjoy seeing how things look after being painted and this encourages them to keep painting.

While we were waiting for the mangos Manu and Amos joined some other workers watching a world cup soccer match on a television set at the back of the parking lot.

The side wall is finished and the parging looks good. The guys did a great job on the wall!

Loutese installed a new electrical line from the road to the house. The other one was not bringing in enough current. Now our water filter works again!

This week the guys tackled the "make a storage depot out of the old outhouse" project. They are creating an opening for the door at the front plus fixing the walls.

We used the old door from the dormitory that was taken down and the workers matched it up with the opening that was created.

The boundary wall on the side is also a room in the neighbors' house. We told him we needed to take it down.

We did and reconstructed a new wall.

Maybe we could have left it and made a sitting room!

We blocked the new wall and you would never know that behind this wall is a room in our neighbor's house!

Our back wall fell in one piece against our neighbor's house. It didn't take long to demolish.
