The painting continues! The dormitory depot is getting a coat of paint too!
The toilets were done as well.
Things sure look nice when they are freshly painted! Even if it is only a washroom.
The whole house took a big shaking during the earthquake. It takes time to fix all the cracks and some are in difficult locations.
Pastor Pierre is walking along the roof edge in search of cracks.
Pastor Pierre and the cement boss are now focusing on fixing the roof.
They used acrobatic movements to access the roof!
They realized it would be easier to build a scaffold. Here Pastor Pierre is cutting boards to size.
The other side of the scaffold is the step ladder. They ran a board along the top to stand on. It will take probably a week to make the repairs to the roof.
Amos was right into supervising the paint crew!
The food depot is the last room inside the house that needed earthquake crack repairs. Pastor Pierre and the cement boss are chiseling out the cracks in preparation to put in new mortar.
The food depot is a small room and it didn't take long to start putting mortar into the cracks.
The guys were excited to see the house finished painting and had a lot of enthusiasm painting. They all took turns.
This student from the neighborhood is using the chalkboard preparing for the state exams for 6eme AF, which is the graduating year for elementary school. The new painted house sure looks a lot different now! It needed painting.
The color we used to paint the outside of the house is called "terre cuite" (cooked earth) and the ceiling and roof border is "peche" (peach).
Here is Johnny painting the bathroom. He enjoys karate and I told him that painting motions are similar to some of the arm movements in karate and that painting is good karate "kata" training! I told him to watch the "Karate Kid" movie to see for himself.
Junior is painting over the earthquake cracks in my room. It is good to see them covered up!

Her aunt lives in the Santo 11 area. It was good that we were finally able to find her family.
These are the 2 tile installers from Mosaique Garderres who installed the ceramic tiles in the dorm rooms. They did good work.
Angela, Herolde and Amos are putting the finishing painting touches on the dorm walls.
The 3 Muskateers, Mike, Benson and Davidson are putting the priming coat on the wall next to the dorm. We hope to install benches in the shade of this tree sometime in the future.
