FOR MARTELLY 'IT'S ANOTHER VICTORY FOR THE PEOPLE'
(Haiti Libre) -
Last night, the Senate finally approved the new ministerial cabinet of the Prime Minister and the General Policy of the Martelly-Conille government, by 16 votes for, 4 against and 5 abstentions. An important step has been crossed, according to President Martelly. "I am pleased that the Senate has voted for the Declaration of General Policy of Prime Minister Garry Conille. This is another victory for the people."
There now remains to pass the final step, that of the vote of the Lower House [which could take place this Friday] and to obtain a majority in favor, so that the Prime Minister and the new government can take office. The transfers of power between the ministers could take several days.
Speaking of the ministerial cabinet, prior to the session in the Senate, the Chief of State had declared that "This new team will be able do a lot with very little, that is to say they do not have many means in hand, but they will provide many results. It's good for Haiti, and that makes me confident.
We have many projects that are ready. We have a lot of friends who want to help us. A government is a thing that everyone asks to have. This means that if you want to intervene in matters related to agriculture, you do not want to deal with the President, but with the Ministry responsible for agriculture. If someone wants to intervene in the field of education it will have a speaker, the Minister of Education.
That's why I need all the arms of the government today so that we can begin to move forward."
