The Haitian judicial system will have work to do. After complaints against former President Duvalier, the Group of 12 candidates who requested the cancellation of the elections of November 28, collectively met and filed a complaint to the Prosecutor of Port-au-Prince, against the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). Jean Louis Barras, a member of the collective, said that further complaints will be filed against people close to the government, accused of conspiracy.
Jean Renel Senatus, lawyer for the Collective, demand that the President of the CEP, Gaillot Dorsainvil and the Director General Pierre Louis Opont answer the questions of justice in connection with this matter, saying that members of the collective are victims of a scam, and fraud orchestrated by the electoral councilors during the first round of elections.
The coordinator of the collective, Warner Cadet accuses the president of the CEP and its Director General to have sponsored the electoral frauds. According to him, these officials can face sentences ranging from 6 months to 3 years of imprisonment under articles 146.2 and the 199 of the Electoral law.
