photos - hydrocephalus - part 4

There was a 3 day interval from the assessment at Healing Hands to the surgery days at the Bernard Mevs/Project Medishare Hospital.

This young mother brought her baby not because he had a large head but because he couldn't hold his head. His head looked a little smaller than normal, which could indicate "microcephaly" or a small, underdeveloped brain. Pray for strength for this mother as she raises a child that will be severely handicapped.

The doctors decided on a surgical list and ordered cat scans for several of the children. Project Medishare paid for the cat scans for these children. We helped out by driving the mothers to the cat scan building.

The mother dressed in the white t-shirt and sitting on the right was beaten up by her cousin's wife after they had a disagreement. The mother had a split lip and bloody nose when she was at the assessment. The sad thing is that the baby was either thrown or was dropped and the baby landed on her head.

Calwens cat scan showed that his shunt was working fine and the doctor decided against doing further surgery.
