photos - repairs - part 4

The scaffolding setup with the ladder at the other end is just at the right height for the cement boss and Pastor Pierre.

It's the right height for Manu too. It is the time of year when the almond tree drops ripe almonds to the ground and the tin roof. Manu is scooping them off the tin. Almonds are a nutritious snack!

We are painting the walls around the property a cream color.

A prime coat was put on first. This is one of the front walls on the property.

The guy with the skull on the back pocket of his jeans is Sony. He is 19-years-old. He is enjoying helping out. The more help the better! It is better than hanging out on the street. Pray for the youth in Haiti. They are the country's future.

"Rocky" is our painter's assistant. He helps to carry the paint cans to the guys.

The guys are now working on painting the ouside depot rooms.

They work well as a team. Here they are doing "synchronized painting"!

Junior loves to paint. He had a doctor's appointment this week for his tuberculosis control appointment and went early in the morning so that he could be back in time to help painting. That is good dedication!

With the outside shower fixed it is now ready for painting too!

The guys have really been painting up a storm! Here they are working on the ceiling and roof area at the front of the house.

The cement boss and Pastor Pierre are putting the finishing touches on the repairs they made to the food depot. Now it is ready for painting!

Dishes are not just woman's work! Here is Bertrand washing the dishes.

Fonise helps to cook supper during the evenings. She is a good cook and makes good spaghetti!

The children decided that they wanted a new hair style this week. William was the first one to get the new look!

On Saturday, Pastor Pierre removed the old roof of the outside shower. Some of the wood was rotten and needed replacing.

Here he is cutting the new boards to form the roof.

A new roof was in place by the end of the day!

Our neighbors tree hangs over into our yard. It is a "kenip" fruit tree and the entire month of July was an enjoyable one for the children. They ate kenip every day! Here Pastor Pierrre is dangling a bunch of them.

This is the kenip fruit. The shell is peeled off and the fruit inside tastes sort of like a grape. There is also a pit like a cherry. Kenip is a nutritious snack for the children!

Mike cut up the boards for the beds.

We went downtown to buy 15 news mattresses.

The guys were happy to move into their own rooms.

The finished dorm looks good!

From all of us here at Coram Deo we would like to say "Thank you" for your financial support in making our repairs possible.

Manu helped out on guard duty in front of the house.

He wants to be a soldier some day!

Shane is from Kitchener, Ontario.

Here I am standing with the Captain.

Dave is from London, Ontario and helped us out here for a couple of weeks. He gave some good advice on construction.
