INAUGURATION OF PARC MICHELET DESTINOBLE, IN VERETTES
(Haiti Libre) -
President Michel Martelly, accompanied by his wife Sophia Martelly, went this week to the town of Verrettes (Artibonite), to participate in the inauguration of the Park Michelet Destinoble.
Under the initiative of the structure "Foutbòl pou Chanjman", led by the Adviser to President Martelly in sport, Olivier Martelly, the rehabilitation of Park Michelet Destinoble, and its modernization fall within the priorities of the program of integration and development of young people established by the Head of State.
Before the population of Verettes rejoiced, expressing his thirst for adequate play areas, the Head of State stated that efforts are underway, and his dedication has become greater regarding the search for direct and definitive solutions to the problems hindering the development of Haitian youth.
For the initiator of "Foutbòl pou Chanjman", Olivier Martelly, the restructuring of recreational areas is favorable to the mental development of young people. It also contributes to establish new occupations at the level of associative structures, encouraging them to develop recreational activities, and/or sporting in their community that Olivier Martelly invites young people to believe in.
Park Michelet Destinoble, which can accommodate over 3,000 football fans, includes, in addition to the rehabilitated playground, a WC for players and fans, a lighting system facilitating the organization of sporting games at night, and a standing committee for its maintenance. For the population of Verettes this is a significant gesture of President Martelly and his son, which shows the importance they attach to the development of provincial towns.
