MICHAELLE JEAN, PRESIDENT OF THE MANAGEMENT BOARD OF THE NEW UNIVERSITY?

On the sidelines of his official visit in the Dominican Republic, President Michel Martelly indicated that the Government was working on the establishment of a Commission responsible for managing the new University, "Roi Henry Christophe" in Limonade "Until today, we are not able to establish an operating plan for the University of Limonade, while we knew for two years that a university center was going to be offered by the Dominican Republic," lamented Martelly.
"Now we are working to establish a Commission that will have to manage this university. The Minister of Foreign Affairs has announced that Chile and Mexico were ready to accompany us in the management. Through the contacts and the dynamism of Michaëlle Jean we can find other partners... I must also tell you that I made the proposal to Michaëlle Jean to preside this Commission that we need to set up, and I think that Ms. Jean, has her heart in Haiti, traveling almost twice a month to come and see how things are progressing. She is aware of everything that happens. I think it's of a good heart that she will force herself to accept the position [...] the future of the university has no other objective than to train generations of the youth, and we are taking decisions in this direction, and working on the management of this entity..."
For its part, the Rectorate of the State University of Haiti has appointed an interim management board to lead the new University "Roi Henry Christophe".
