NATIONAL CREDIT BANK OPENS NEW OFFICE FOR KAY PA'M MORTGAGES

PORT-AU-PRINCE - The Board of Directors of National Bank of Credit (BNC) opened the doors of its office for Kay Pa'm (My House), the first construction and residential housing mortgage program in Haiti.

The new office was built at the center of the shopping district in Port-au-Prince and opened on Tuesday.

The Chairman of the Board of BNC, Jean-Philippe Vixamar, told the public that a professional, dedicated and dynamic team was willing to accommodate all citizens wishing to obtain financing for the purchase, construction or renovation of a residence.

Vixamar informed, that forms are available at all branches of the BNC, and also on the website of the bank. Launched on July 19, the program already has loaned 350 million HTG ($8.4 million [US]).

The figure is below expectations, according to Vixamar who asked all those interested in the financing to go to their branches and make their request. He stated that this program provides a solution to the problem of building in post-earthquake Haiti.

For his part, the program manager, Sony Dardignac, reiterated Kay Pa'm as a solution to the housing problems. Problems which, he says, existed long before the earthquake but which were accentuated by the disaster.

Thanks to this program, the BNC will help build houses and apartment buildings, and provide support to developers who want to invest in that sector. He indicated that employees of the public service sector and independent professionals who meet the eligibility criteria may also benefit from the program.
