STATEMENT OF JOSEPH LAMBERT BETWEEN THE TWO VOTES
(Haiti Libre) -
After having voted in the Senate [on the night of Friday] the statement of General Policy of the Martelly-Conille government and its ministerial cabinet; and before the overwhelming vote this morning in the Lower House [81 votes for, 0 against and 7 abstentions], Senator Lambert declared... "we always said that we were not a blocking element [...] we have not only allowed the ratification of the Prime Minister, but we proved that our majority is united by choosing to vote for the General Policy of the Government.
It was agreed between us and the President of the Republic as well as the Prime Minister Garry Conille, that we must share the responsibilities... We will deal with the challenges that await us in the country and for this, we have promised him, both at the level of the G16 and that of the GPR in the Chamber of Deputies that we will give him a favorable vote.
It is not the number of Ministers which is important. What is important, is that we have respected the word that we gave, and we are committed as a team, to see how we can conduct the country onto the way of success."
