The morning that Tanya, Holly and Morgan were to arrive, Pastor Pierre came over to the house with a neighbor of his. The woman on the right had given birth to a premature girl during her 7th month of pregnancy. For the fist 10 days the baby did fine. The day prior to coming to visit us the baby stopped breast feeding and wasn't opening her eyes. We were on our way to the airport and I told her to wait and that we would be right back.
The baby was cold and you could tell that her body temperature wasn't normal.
When we got back to the house I told Tanya, Holly and Morgan that we would be going to the Bernard Mevs/Project Medishare hospital. They have a PICU (pediatric intensive care unit) there.
The baby (mother had never given her a name yet because she thought it might die) was admitted to the PICU and placed in an incubator.
With the attentive care of both international and haitian medical staff the baby improved. She was discharged a few days ago healthy! Pray for the work of Bernard Mevs/Project Medishare. Without this special care this baby would probably have died.
