After the opening ceremonies the athletes headed to their respective areas.

These people were watching the start of the soccer games. The one lady spent a lot of time on her knees and didn't look uncomfortable at all.

The guy in the blue shirt is holding the hand of this blind athlete. They were practising running together. This is a good symbol for Haiti. Hand in hand the country can advance and improve.

This one armed man was the winner of the 400m race.

The soccer players who had only one leg used crutches to balance on when they kicked the ball.

This man with one leg was the goalie. He was very agile!

The amputees were very determined at getting to the ball.

The people who played had various handicaps of one form or another.

The guy in the red shirt with no lower arms was a good soccer player. Here he is running towards the ball.

Amos is a friend of one of the older guys here at Coram Deo. He volunteered to be an escort for the blind.

The sporting grounds are near the house of Benson's aunt. He went with some of the children to go say hello to his aunt.

Pastor Pierre carried Macdonald down the stairs from the grandstand. Macdonald enjoys going on these outings.

Here at Coram Deo the children accept the handicapped and eagerly help them out. Pray that haitian society will one day do the same.

The University of Miami Neurosurgery team held hydrocephalus evaluations on October 2nd at Hopital La Paix. The waiting area where parents and their hydrocephalus children sat was full.

These fathers were sitting with their children.

This child already had surgery and was there with her mother for a post-op checkup.

This young girl is doing well. She can stand and get into mischief!

This young boy is an example to the parents of how a hydrocephalus child can develop and walk one day.

Sterline Bonhomme will be needing surgery again. Her head continued to grow after receiving a ventriculoscopy during the last surgical process.

Guerdson Delile will need a second surgery as well. His head circumference is growing again as well.

Vanessa Jules and her mother traveled from Fond Verettes. They left their house at 3am to get to Port-au-Prince in the morning.

This baby's head is still small and is a good candidate for surgery.

This young girl is doing well. She is able to sit by herself.

There were different types of neurological problems at the evaluations. This boy has a bulge on the top of his head.

This baby girl has an encephalocele growing at the back of the head. Part of the brain is inside this sac.

This baby girl has spina bifida. She has the largest spina bifida I have ever seen.

Jonel Colo's head is very large. The people on the tap-tap all got off when his mother and Jonel boarded the tap-tap. They didn't want to ride with them.

Jonel's mother is struggling to look after him. He has 2 large pressure sores on both sides of his head. This family needs a lot of prayer.
