PRESIDENT MARTELLY - REACTIONS TO NEW HOUSE LEADERS
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE - "As president of the House, Levaillant Louis-Jeune (Desdunes/Inite) can not display the same attitude," said President Michel Martelly reacting to the ascension to the presidency of the lower house of a deputy who has advocated for his impeachment.

In a post by Signal FM, President Martelly renewed his call for the agreement between the Executive and the Legislature in the interest of the population.

Martelly equated the member from Desdunes' earlier reactions to the arrest of Deputy Arnel BĂ©lizaire (Delmas/Independent), where he seemed adamant to bring an indictment to the Head of State as "emotional", according to the same source.

The president hopes that the new leaders of the Haitian parliament, Senator Simon Desras (Centre/Lavni), who will preside over the senate, and Deputy Louis Jeune, who will preside over the Chamber of Deputies, will be less intransigent than when they were ordinary members.

On Tuesday, the two houses of parliament elected each new office.

The Senate consists of President Simon Desras, Vice-President Andris Riche (Grande Anse/Alternative), First Secretary Steven Benoit (Ouest/Alternative), 2nd Secretary John Joseph Joel (Ouest/Inite) and 3rd Secretary Fritz Carlos Lebon (Sud/Inite).

The office in the Lower House will have President Levaillant Louis-Jeune, Vice Presidents Benjamin Ocinjak (Grande-Riviere/Inite) and Poly Faustin (Mirogoane/Inite), First Secretary Faustin Charles Jude (Borgne/Konbit), 2nd Secretary Guerda B. Benjamin (Savanette/Ansanm Nou Fo), Quaestor Cholzer Chancy (Ennery/AAA) and Vice-Quaestor Louis Marie Bonhomme (Saint Louis/Pont).
